There’s No Place Like Here by Cecelia Ahern
I’ve read all of Cecelia Ahern’s books (in fact I re-read PS I Love You before I saw the movie in December – a horrible mistake, but that’s another post) and enjoyed them. This one is a bit different from her first two (chick lit) and continues the fantasy trend she began with If You Could See Me Now.
Sandy Shortt is obsessed with lost things. In fact after a few years as a policeman, she opens her own missing persons agency. Then one day while out for a job she gets lost and finds a magical other place (Here) where all the lost things are. There’s also a subplot involved (what else) a missing person whom Sandy was supposed to find.
Once I got into it, this was a quick read. And I like the concept of another place where all the lost things (those single socks which disappear in the dryer) are.
